ACCESSIBILITY
STATEMENT
Last updated: April 25, 2026
Our Commitment
Ham Ji Bak is committed to making our website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We continually work to improve the user experience for all guests and to follow the relevant accessibility standards described below.
Conformance Status
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, published by the W3C in October 2023. WCAG 2.2 is fully backward-compatible with WCAG 2.1 and adds nine new success criteria covering focus visibility, drag operations, target size, and consistent help. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.
Accessibility Features
Our website includes the following accessibility features: • Semantic HTML with proper heading hierarchy and landmark regions (main, nav, footer) • A main-content target and skip-to-content behavior for keyboard and screen-reader users • ARIA labels and roles on interactive elements that need them • Keyboard navigation support throughout the site with visible focus indicators • Sufficient color-contrast ratios for body text and interactive controls • Descriptive alternative text for meaningful images and empty alt text (aria-hidden) for decorative images • Resizable text and pinch-to-zoom enabled on mobile (we do not set maximum-scale) • Responsive design that adapts to all common device sizes and orientations • No content that flashes more than three times per second • Fonts loaded with font-display: swap to prevent invisible text during page load
Known Limitations & Equivalent Alternatives
While we strive for full accessibility, some areas may not yet fully conform to WCAG 2.2 AA. For each third-party limitation we provide an equivalent alternative so every guest can complete the same task: • Third-party online-ordering platform — linked from this website and controlled by its provider, so its accessibility is governed by that provider. Equivalent alternative: call (503) 610-1589 to place a pickup or takeout order with our staff. • Google Maps embed on the Visit page — may have limited keyboard accessibility; the full address, phone number, and a turn-by-turn directions link are provided in text on the same page as an accessible alternative. • Some photographs may have shorter alternative-text descriptions than ideal. We are working to improve these. We are actively addressing these limitations as part of our ongoing development work.
Technical Specifications
Accessibility of this website relies on the following technologies: • HTML5 • CSS3 • JavaScript (React) • WAI-ARIA where needed The website has been tested in modern versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge, and with screen readers including VoiceOver (macOS/iOS) and NVDA (Windows).
Assessment Approach
We assess the accessibility of our website through a combination of: • Self-evaluation by our team against WCAG 2.2 AA criteria during development • Automated checks using standard browser developer tools and accessibility scanners • Manual keyboard-only testing on key flows (navigation, menu browsing, and the hand-off to our online-ordering platform) • Screen-reader spot checks with VoiceOver (macOS/iOS) and NVDA (Windows) The website was most recently reviewed on April 25, 2026.
